About the Registrar
The Arts & Sciences Registrar’s Office maintains students' permanent academic record and provides services for students and faculty members at Dartmouth in the areas of academic policy, enrollment, and course information. This is an office of the Division of Undergraduate Education in the School of Arts and Sciences. The Registrar’s Office coordinates activities which include but are not limited to course registration; enrollment patterns (D-Plans); assignment of classrooms; records maintenance of courses offered and grades awarded; certification of students for graduation; and maintenance, protection and release of academic records.

Extended Hours
The Registrar's Office will have extended hours for entering student course registration:
- Friday, September 11: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Saturday, September 12: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Approaching Dates and Deadlines
Below are some approaching dates and deadlines for fall term 2026. For a full list of dates, see the 2026 Fall Term Calendar.
- September 11 — First-Year Advising Day
- September 13 – September 16 — Fall term on-line check-in.
- September 14 — Fall term classes begin.
- September 14 – September 20 — First week of fall term schedule adjustment (add/drop). Permission to add courses is not necessary unless normally required.
- September 16 — Deadline to complete check-in without a $50 late registration fee – check-in must be completed by 11:59 p.m.
- September 20 — Deadline for prospective fall term graduates in residence to elect or change a major or minor.
- September 21 – September 27 — Second week of fall term schedule adjustment (add/drop). All courses require instructor permission to add.
- September 23 — Final day for delayed check-in (with $50 late fee). Any student not checked in by the end of this day, but still listed with the enrollment pattern letter R (residence) for the fall term is liable for administrative withdrawal.
