About the Registrar

The Arts & Sciences Registrar’s Office maintains students' permanent academic record and provides services for students and faculty members at Dartmouth in the areas of academic policy, enrollment, and course information. This is an office of the Division of Undergraduate Education in the School of Arts and Sciences. The Registrar’s Office coordinates activities which include but are not limited to course registration; enrollment patterns (D-Plans); assignment of classrooms; records maintenance of courses offered and grades awarded; certification of students for graduation; and maintenance, protection and release of academic records.

Approaching Dates and Deadlines

Below are some approaching dates and deadlines for spring term 2026. For a full list of dates, see the 2026 Spring Term Calendar.

  • April 9 — Final day for sophomores to declare a major and, if appropriate, revised enrollment patterns.
  • April 12 — Last day for undergraduate students to establish their official course load. Final day to drop a 3rd course without a grade notation of “W”. Any registered student not officially enrolled in at least two courses becomes liable for administrative withdrawal.
  • April 13 — Final day for electing use of the Non-Recording Option (NRO).
  • April 16 — Final day for first-year students to submit enrollment patterns (D-Plan).
  • April 24 — Course Timetable available for the summer term.
  • April 29 – May 7 — Summer term course election period.
Students throw their graduation caps into the air at commnencement.
