Transfer Credit Review
Instructions
- Follow the link provided to you via email to access your department/program’s credit evaluation spreadsheet in SharePoint. You must be connected to Dartmouth’s VPN to access documents in SharePoint. Contact helpdesk@dartmouth.edu for assistance accessing Dartmouth’s VPN network.
- Right-click to open the credit evaluation spreadsheet in your computer’s Excel application. Do not open the spreadsheet in your browser.
- When you open the spreadsheet a pop-up window opens. Select “Update” to continue.
- Below is a sample evaluation spreadsheet.
- This section of the spreadsheet displays information about the matriculated transfer student and the institution they are transferring from.
- This section displays information about the course the transfer student took at their previous institution.
- This section displays the Registrar’s Awarded Equivalency and notes section. A note, such as “BIOL 1030 + BIOL 1050 = BIOL 002” appears if two sections (for example a lecture and a lab) combined were found to be equivalent to a Dartmouth course. If the course number in the Registrar Awarded Equivalency column is “000” transfer credit was awarded for the course, but it was not found to be equivalency to any specific Dartmouth course.
- A link to the syllabus, if the student provided one, displays in this column.
- Enter your evaluation of the transfer course here.
- If you agree with the Registrar’s Awarded equivalency, enter “yes” in the first column.
- If you do not agree with the Registrar’s Awarded equivalency, enter “no” in the first column and enter the Department/Program awarded equivalency in the following columns.
- If no credit should be awarded, enter “No Credit” in the “Dept/Prog Awarded Equivalency” column. If you deny transfer credit for a course, enter the reason in the “If no credit awarded: Message to Student” column which will be shared with the student.
- You may enter “000” for the Dartmouth equivalent course number if you wish to award transfer credit for the course, but it is not equivalent to any specific Dartmouth Course.
